Mud-Packs

Soil free from fertilizers is used for local application on the abdomen, for Arthritis and skin diseases. Full body mud application is given to patients suffering from chronic skin diseases like psoriasis and eczema. Mud packs are given to every patient. The small pack is kept on the forehead and the large one is kept on the abdomen and on the navel.

Spinal Bath

This is a hydrotherapeutic measure where an individual is made to lie down in a specially designed longitudinal fibre equipment such that only the back is immersed in water of the desired temperature. Spinal bath is useful in hypertension, insomnia, musculoskeletal diseases.

Steam Bath

A steam bath is a specially designed wooden or fibre chamber. The patient sits inside the chamber and steam is circulated. Sweating initiated by steam bath helps in elimination of toxins from the body. It is effective in Osteo-arthritis / Rheumatoid arthritis, Backache, Respiratory diseases and Obesity. Patients suffering from high blood pressure, ischemic heart disease are advised not to take a steam bath.

Fasting and Diet

Fasting should not be confused with starvation. It is constructive while starvation is destructive. Controlled abstinence from food has been used therapeutically for over 2000 years. It allows body to focus its resources on detoxifying the system and provides a valuable opportunity for the inner mechanism to rest, repair, rejuvenate, and cleanse.

Hip Bath

It is a hydrotherapeutic measure where person is made to sit in a hip bath tub and water is filled up to the navel region.Other body part are kept dry. Feet rest on the stool. Special tub or large basin is used for hip bath. Its mainly administered for improvement of digestion, excretion, in gynecological and urinary problems hip bath is beneficial. Cold water, warm water is used depending upon the clinical condition.

Foot/Arm Bath

Warm water foot and arm bath is useful in Asthma, Bronchitis, Insomnia, Menstrual disorders. The person dips legs up to knees in a bucket full of warm water. The body is covered with a bed sheet or blanket. This has therapeutic application in an acute asthmatic attack. Alternate warm & cold foot bath is used in certain conditions.

It is a hydrotherapeutic measure where a cotton cloth dipped in the water of the desired temperature is later rinsed and tied on a particular region or whole body to achieve a particular effect. It is mainly used for painful joints, thyroid disorders, and respiratory disorders etc.

Acupressure

Acupressure is one of the most ancient traditional Chinese systems of healing where pressure is applied on various specific points to treat various disorders, pain and tensions. Acupressure centres are located on the hands, legs, face, back and other parts of the body. The pressure is applied to these points with the help of the fingertips. It is a hydrotherapeutic measure where an individual is made to lie down in a tub. It is generally administered in conditions like Hypertension, Heart diseases, Obesity or Chronic skin diseases. Warm tub bath is useful for Arthritis & Respiratory diseases.

Sun Bath

It is the process where the body is exposed to the sun between 7 AM-8 PM for a specific duration of time. Sun is a source of energy. Exposure of the body to sun rays has a rejuvenating effect. It is important for the synthesis of Vitamin D by the skin. It is also a natural way of fomentation in painful conditions of Muscles, Joints and in chronic Bronchitis and Asthma.

Colon clense

An enema is a procedure of introducing liquids into the rectum and colon via the anus. Simple water enema is used for bowel wash. Lukewarm water, saline water(0. 9%) is used for cleansing impacted faucal matter. Routinely enema is given for all new patients for one to three days. Thereafter, depending upon requirement alternate day or twice a week enema is given. Neem decoction is also used in certain clinical conditions.
